Specialized Womens Road Bikes 2011 Ruby And Dolce

Specialized is one of the giant US bike brands, making components and bikes alike. It was founded in the mid seventies and is based out of the sunshine state, California. 2011 sees a great range of bikes within 2 main ranges; Dolce and Ruby. Ruby is the higher spec/end with competitive race bikes and the Dolce end is for the amateur beginner rider. The Ruby range has been around for a few years now and always gets good write ups and Specialized always delivers a good offering. The Dolce range start from the mid £600 up to £1300+. They are all designed specifically for women riders and have narrower bars and shorter stems for the correct riding position.

Dolce, Dolce Comp, Elite and Sport 2011 Range

The Dolce series has 4 bikes to choose from:

Dolce Comp has an E5 alloy frame, carbon seatstays and forks. It comes with the Shimano 105 groupset and offers a triple crankset with a 10 speed rear gear. It runs on a Shimano/Mavic CXP22 Wheelset and comes in white/light grey.
Dolce Elite has an A1 premium aluminium frame and carbon forks. It comes with the Shimano Tiagra groupset and offers a triple crankset with a 9 speed rear gear. It runs on a Shimano WHR500 Wheelset and comes in black/white and turquoise.
Dolce Sport has an A1 premium aluminium frame and carbon forks. It comes with the Shimano Tiagra/Sora groupset and offers a triple crankset with a 9 speed rear gear. It runs on a Mavic CXP22 Wheelset and comes in red/white.
Finally the Dolce has an A1 premium aluminium frame and carbon forks. It comes with the Shimano 2300 groupset and offers a triple crankset with a 8 speed rear gear. It runs on a Mavic CXP22 Wheelset and comes in blue/white.

Ruby Comp and Elite range 2011

Two premium broad bikes in this category:

Ruby Comp has a full carbon frame, forks and runs the Shimano 105 groupset with a compact crankset and 10 speed. Its has the Fulcrum Racing 6 wheelset and is graced in mainly blue, with designs in white.
Ruby Elite has all the above but it runs on Shimano WHR500 wheels and comes carbon/pink in colour.

Most of the Specialized womens road bikes come in the following frame sizes 44cm, 48cm, 51cm, 54cm and 57cm, but you will need to check with the retailer.
