Cannondale Womens Road Bikes

Cannondale is a well recognised brand in the world of cycling today, started in 1971 in Pennsylvania, United States of America. Cannondale’s women’s range of bikes in 2012 consists of performance road and elite road. They are targeting the beginner/amateur market and one bike to the athlete/competitive/pro market. The elite road range actually consists of one bike the SuperSix Womens Ultegra, whilst the performance range has Synapse Sora, Tiagra and 105. The bikes are very similar to the equivalent mens bikes, with different paint jobs and the frame sizes are slightly smaller at 44cm, 48cm, 51cm and 54cm.

The differences between the two ranges is clear as they are for different types of riders, find the details below:

Cannondale Synapse 5 105

The Cannondale Synapse 5 105 comes with a compact chainset and 10 speed at the back so 20 gears in total. The Synapse 105 comes with a compact Fsa Gossamer Pro, Bb30 chainset. So in essence the more you pay the better components you get with the bike. It is very well priced in the market and ideal for people getting into the sport or occasional riders.

Cannondale SuperSix 5 105

This is a different bike entirely. It has race pedigree and the mens bike has been ridden to many race wins. The Cannondale SuperSix 5 105 bike is based on the same concept and is a full carbon bike, including seatpost, stem, headset and cranks. It comes with the full Shimano 105 groupset minus the crankset which is FSA GOSSAMER PRO BB30, 50/34. It runs on Mavic Aksium wheels.

Cannondale Caad10 105

The Cannondale Caad10 105 women’s road bike is similar to the Synapse, with a full Shimano 105 groupset and runs on Shimano RS10 wheels and Schwalbe Lugano, 700X23C, Foldable tyres.

If you were wondering why we have included bike weights it is because Cannondale now don’t publish these as they were based on a specific sized bike and one weight does not fit all. They suggest going and trying the bikes and getting a feel for them.

Summary: Cannondale have produced a number of great womens bikes for the market to cater for all.
